Watch this space…… all accordion lovers. On World Accordion Day, 6 May, the London College of Music (University of West London) Accordion Grade Examination Syllabus will be released world wide. This syllabus was compiled by Sergio Zampolli and Amarillie Ackermann. A pilot project of 13 examinations were held in Johannesburg in October 2016, and it was a resounding success. Examinations are open and the first available session is June 2017. It consists of Step 1, Step 2 and then Grade 1 – 8. It is the now the only Examination Board with Accordion Examinations available in South Africa. The syllabus has a wonderful selection of pieces and all music is available in print.
